When DMP CryoSystems incorporated almost 2 decades ago, the term "cryogenic freezing" synonymous with, and inappropriately applied to dry ice freezing. Sometimes called shallow cryogenics, it is still generally performed in a homemade “cold box”. Since then, as the industry has acknowledged the benefits of going beyond dry ice, “Deep Cryogenics” is now performed requiring the use of liquefied gases. The most commonly used is liquid nitrogen which allows deep cryogenic freezing to -300F. DMP Cryosystems has led the way in developing the most advanced equipment for the commercial heat treating industry.
